Take the entirety of the regular season and throw it out the window. Fifteen long and hard fought weeks on the virtual gridiron have led to this moment. Fifteen long weeks of verbal abuse and constant anxiety over who to play have lead us to this moment. Fifteen long weeks that no longer matter once you reach this stage of the game. MMMMMM it smells like the playoffs!
Drunken Avengers (DA) vs. Nino De Oro (NDO)
2020’s final rematch took place earlier than anticipated this year. Covid and injury moves plagued both managers earlier in the week and last minute changes to lineups could only leave both managers sweating. Both managers would see players rise and others fall but ultimately our reigning champ would see his run at a repeat end early in 2021. Drunken Avengers terrible defensive swap would bite him along with his bench outshining his starters. NDO will advance to the quarter finals and look to stand amongst the top two for the second season in a row. It was an honorable battle for both managers.
DA – 103.98, NDO – 120.95
Saquan Deez Nuts (SDN) vs. Sunday Funday (SF)
This matchup wasn’t necessarily projected to be close, but almost immediately it would be. The lead would trade between both managers a few times with SDN finally securing it and holding onto it for the remainder of the weekend. Thanks to a sturdy defense who posted a mind numbing 30 points, SDN finally punched a ticket for the semfinals. Have they made it that far before? I don’t know nor do I care, we’re going to say this is the first time. Sunday Funday would join Drunken Avengers in the loser’s bracket.
SDN – 143.53, SF – 117.97
Darwin’s Law (DL) vs. Princess M (PM)
In one of the quieter matchups of the PM manifested all her gambling debt like Goku summoning the spirit bomb. The sheer amount of crippling financial ruin was enough to smother DL into submission. PM would post one of the highest scores of the season taking home the much needed win over the rookie manager.
DL – 100.29, PM – 164.61
Deep Space Niners (DSN) vs. MFFGA (still stupid)
I mean we all knew how this was going to go and that’s exactly how it went. DSN was probably asleep at the helm and still managed to absolutely thrash MFFGA. At least I don’t have to type that stupid acronym again for the rest of the season!
DSN – 113.94, MFFGA – 74.10
The quarterfinals are over and one thing is for sure, we will have a new champion when it’s all said and done! Well, it definitely won’t be Thai Chili or Lt. Dan, but we’ll have a new one for sure! Tune in next week as our remaining managers duke it out in the semifinals!
